Depends on size pipe, type pipe, and where it’s located. You can probably get a plumber out to give you an estimate.

Make sure the extent of the damage.. Make sure the pipes are not in the slab.. If the broken pipes are in the slab , I would look for another house or get them to go way down on the price.

That’s going to depend entirely on whether you will hire the job out or do it yourself! Hiring out? Pretty damn expensive. Do it yourself…after learning how at Home Depot? Go for it, not so expensive.
When I plumbed my entire house, it cost me about 250 dollars in parts, and a bunch of practice…got it right without a leak!

You gave you real details that can help one assess this question. Where is the home located? Even different parts of cities can vary.

Call and have three plumbers come out and give you free, written estimates. Most people trying to sell a problem home will allow for this. You can also make an offer on a home and the contigency is that the pipes be repaired by them, or that you will only sign the final papers if you are happy with how much the repairs would cost.

If you do buy this home, may i suggest getting a mortgage attorney? That way if something more is wrong when that problem is fixed, you have recourse.

You can have anything put into writing before sending over a bid. Anyone can always back out of the entire thing up till the last minute for any reason. You should always have an inspection as well, and you may decide not to go ahead becasue of the inspection of the home as well. Realtors want you to put a large chunck of money down, that may not be refundable if the entire thing gets to a certain point in the process. Therefore, i always chose only to put a little bit down on a bid, but allowed them to see papers from the bank that i was pre-approved, but not up to what amount. I asked the bank to put down the amount i was bidding only. They worked well with me.

If the pipes are burst, there probably was some flooding. But hard to say. It could easily run as little as 2 grand and up to 10 grand. Only plumbers in the area can really give you an idea after visually seeing it for themselves.

if you plan to do the work your self I have done a whole house including the cost of the special tools, pex pipe and fittings, two toilets, water heater and water softener. for 1,400 dollars. the fridge was ok. all the faucets were undamaged traps made it through too. I had to replace the pin catcher on the wash machine and the city replaced the water meter base. there were access panels for the plumbing fixtures behind the shower and combo tubs I had to cut open the walls in a few places but good patches and fresh paint took care of the rest I recovered a good chunk salvaging the copper pipes that had burst.
