		<description>I live in Alaska we have to do this, just turn on the cold water so that it drips slowly, then stick a rag on the bottom of the sink so its not noisy, you dont need hot water, just cold, its the running of the water not the temperature, unless you are talking about less then -10 F, then you should have heated pipes.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>

		<description>It&#039;s doesn&#039;t matter which one.  As long as the water is dripping it&#039;s making the water push through the pipes decreasing the chances of the water freezing in the pipes.  My BF and I have done both (cold and hot) and we have not had a problem yet.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>

I also saw something about a heating wire you run along the pipes that keeps them warm.  I imagine you could find it at many plumbing stores.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
